Multicultural Centre

Here at the Multicultural Centre in Palmerston North we have a range of events, activities and services to help you, whether you are new to Palmerston North, migrant, refugee or you're a long time resident.

If you want help and support learning or practicing English come to one of our English language classes. If you're looking to make new friends we would love to see you at one of our social activities.

We are able to offer support, advice and information about living in New Zealand. We will advocate on your behalf if your language or cultural background is making it difficult for you to communicate with people or organisations.

Kia Orana tatou katoatoa ite aroa ranuinui o Te Atua, te tumu ete akaoti i to tatou akarongo,

My name is Noorangi Puleosi and I come from Mauke Cook Islands, married to David Puleosi a Niuean Cook Islander and we have three adult children of whom we both are extremely proud.

We moved to New Zealand in 1974 and have been living here with our family in our country of adoption for over 30 years. I have been working for the Multicultural centre for 10 years and I have treasured every moment. During those years I have had the privilege of working alongside many people of the world, sharing and learning about their vibrant and colourful cultures.

Christine

Christine Mukabalinda

I am originally from Rwanda, and came to New Zealand 9 years ago following my husband'™s immigration application under the skilled migrant scheme. We have 5 adult children and 2 grandsons. My professional expertise is in business administration, my major is accounting. I first started working with Manawatu Multicultural Council as a volunteer and now I am a part time staff member. I enjoy the lifestyle in New Zealand, I enjoy my work, and most importantly I enjoy helping new immigrants and refugees as well as newcomers to Palmerston North.
